Velichko Marina Leonidovna (1965)  Click to play

Velichko (Shpindovskaya) Marina Leonidovna was born in 1965 in Ukraine. Now she resides in the village of Palekh together with her husband Velichko Boris.
In 1987 the artist finished the Palekh Art School. Her teachers were Nemtinov B.M. and Zverkova L.S. The Diploma work of Velichko was the composition “Semik” (Russian folk feast).
Works of Marina Velichko are exhibited in a Boston Museum; her works also were acquired by collectors from the USA, Germany and Finland.
Marina used to work at the Union of Palekh Artists.
She paints her works in the traditions of Palekh lacquered miniature painting, using a pencil, tempera paints and water-colors. Themes of her works are folklore, fairy-tales and winter subjects.
The artist paints all her works with feeling and love. Beginning to paint, she intends to find new nuances and unexpected perspectives in a familiar, recurring subject. She thinks that work on a lacquered miniature may last forever because perfection has no limits.
Marina prefers to use in painting fresh tones which help to express a chosen theme precisely and convey its mood.
The artist thinks her works are notable for thinness of painting, clarity of drawing, coloring and original style.
Holland painting, impressionism, postimpressionism, Japanese engraving and also painting of such famous Palekh artists as Markichev I.V., Zubkov I.I. and Golikov I.I. had a great influence on the artist's creativity.
In her free time Marina likes to cook and read books.
To all admirers of the lacquered miniature painting and all collectors she wishes health, success and love!
